There are two types of billing in community solar: Utility Consolidated Billing (one bill) and Non-Utility Consolidated Billing (two bills). Which billing model you have depends on your state and your solar farm.
One Bill for Community Solar
With the one-bill model, you will see the credits, the discount, and the bill for community solar applied directly on your utility bill.
Two Bills or Dual-Billing (Non-Utility Consolidated Billing)
In the dual-billing system, you will receive two electricity bills, one from your utility provider and one from PureSky Energy.
The utility provider will bill you for the electricity you use, minus the solar credits from your solar farm share. PureSky Energy will bill you for the cost of your solar credits minus the discount.
So, if you used $110 worth of electricity in a month, and your solar credits are worth $100, then your utility bill will be for $10. PureSky will bill you only for $90. That’s the cost of your solar credits with the 10% discount.
